Rainbow Mountains in Cusco

Vinicunca: It’s the most famous mountain and receives thousands of domestic and international tourists daily. It stands at 5200 meters above sea level, and reaching the summit requires a hike of one to one and a half hours, depending on each person’s physical condition. You also have the option of renting a horse or ATV. It’s located in the district of Pitumarca, province of Canchis, near the Ausangate mountain.
Palcoyo: It’s a mountain that doesn’t require much of a hike, approximately 30 to 45 minutes, and the entire path is flat. Upon reaching the summit, you’ll be rewarded with a view of several colorful mountains, creating a beautiful landscape. Located at 4900 meters above sea level, Palcoyo mountain receives very few visitors daily, making it perfect for taking photos.
Pallay Punchu: This mountain was recently discovered and is located at 4700 meters above sea level in the province of Canas. It currently receives very few tourists daily, and most visitors arrange their own transportation from Cusco. Tours to Pallay Punchu do not depart daily; you should check with your travel agency.
Tour Rainbow Mountain
There are daily tours to Vinicunca Mountain and Palcoyo in shared group or private tour. Tours to Pallay Punchu are only available on weekends or when there is a group. However, if you wish to visit Pallay Punchu, you can book a private transfer from Cusco to Pallay Punchu with a transportation agency.
